Questions & Answers
What other water sports do you do and how long?
I'm windsurfing a lot since a long time, mostly waveriding, and since summer 2019 I get addicted to Wingfoiling too :-) When there's no wind at all, I love to surf, surf foil too when the waves are good for that!
What do you like about wing foiling?
The simplicity of the gear, small, light and even with light wind it's really fun ! I like also the fact that it's a brand new sport, so the equipment is evolving fast, and after each session , you can learn new tricks :-)
How did you learn and how long did it take you to wing foil?
I learn in July 2019 during a Fanatic/Duotone windsurf event. One of the first wing has arrived in France and I directly knew I was gonna like it ! I was already doing surf foil so I learned pretty fast, and was pretty exited by the thing all summer
What is your favorite gear combination and why?
My favourite combo for the moment is the 4m ECHO, with the 4'8 sky wing and the Fanatic aero High Aspect 1250. when it's about 16/20 knots it's just working perfect, fast, and the 4m wing is easier to handle than a 5m.
What was your favorite wing surfing session?
I've got a lot! Maybe this summer in France, with some little waves and cross off shore wind, was pretty good to both surf and jump with the waves ;-)
What do you want or believe will significantly improve the wing foiling gear?
The gear already improved a lot this year compared to last year. Just let some time to the sport, and it will improve a lot again :-)
What tips or recommendations do you have for anyone who wants to start?
It's a really cool sport, accessible if you start with the right gear. Don't burn the steps, and start with a board at least 6'4 with 110l more or less. You have to got good stability on the board standing up on it even if there's no wind.
What is your biggest water sport achievement?
I was Windsurf French Champion U21 in 2004, 2nd in the Brazilian Wave championship in 2017, 4th at the International Windsurfing Tour IWT in Pacasmayo, peru
