What other water sports do you do and how long?
Windsurfing for 15 years. Surfing for 10 years. Kitesurfing started a year ago. Surf and pump foiling for 2 years.
What do you like about wing foiling?
Freedom of move and fast learning curve.
How did you learn and how long did it take you to wing foil?
First time I was on a wing I didn't like it because it was a bit painful for the shoulders, then after a second time and stronger wind it came very easily.
What is your favorite gear combination and why?
Starboard Airush 3m Freewing - very light, small so very easy to make tricks like a pocket toy. Starboard surf foil 4'8" 40L, can use it from 12 knots Enough volume to play on freestyle while being that small that you can have proper surf sessions. AK monocoque 800 and 95 mast. Perfect freeride foil offering great surfs and delivering good speed, while still very maneuverable and freestyle oriented.
What was your favorite wing surfing session?
3m swell and 30 knots tropical storm riding with the Starboard designing team in Phuket Thailand.
What do you want or believe will significantly improve the wing foiling gear?
Better foils: Cheapest, more efficient, easier to connect to the board. Stiffer wings (more PSI), carbon frame.
What tips or recommendations do you have for anyone who wants to start?
Start on fins with proper wind (15 knots).
What is your biggest water sport achievement?
Being part of the Starboard designing team working on the Wing gear.
