What other water sports do you do and how long?

Windsurfing for 15 years, Kitesurfing for more than 20 years. Sailing for 10 years. Wakeboarding for 10 years. Surf (15 years), surf foil (1 year), and kitefoil for 2 years.

What do you like about wing foiling?

It´s very good for NW wind that is quite common in my local spot (very gusty) and surfing in onshore winds is amazing. We can also use any spot that would be difficult with the kite

How did you learn and how long did it take you to wing foil?

I borrowed a board (120 liters) and a 4m wing in 16kts. I just asked a friend of mine how to position the wing and some other tips but it was easy because I did kitefoil and surfoil before. I was riding the first day and gybing on the second because it´s easier than surfoiling. I didn´t like the big board so my 3rd session was with a Gong Lemon 4,8 70 liters (my weight is 77kg). It was a bit tricky but in 30 min I was riding properly.

What is your favorite gear combination and why?

Takoon 4m wing because it´s very light and handy. Gong Lemon 4.8 board because it´s short, light, and stable. Regarding the Foil size I use quite often the Gong Allvator LT (1450 cm2 ) and if it´s windy the Gong Veloce 1000cm2. Mast: 100cm Gong.

What was your favorite wing surfing session?

So far 28 December 2020 with nice waves in Mallorca duet o Bella Storm.

What do you want or believe will significantly improve the wing foiling gear?

Carbon fiber rigid wings, like the ones they use in the ice.

What tips or recommendations do you have for anyone who wants to start?

Do not buy a big longboard. Try to rent it or borrow from someone just for the very beginning and after learning, get a shortboard according to your skills in other watersports with a volume of your bodyweight +15 maximum. The foil and the width of these boards will make them very stable.

What is your biggest water sport achievement?

Regional Champion in sailing (optimist), 6th in the nationals, and 8th in the European race. In other watersports, I never did a serious competition, but I would consider wing racing.
