What other water sports do you do and how long?

SUP surf, Windsurf, SUP foil

What do you like about wing foiling?

The ease to wing out to waves or swell, to be able to foil onto a swell that I couldn't previously catch with a short board and paddle.

How did you learn and how long did it take you to wing foil?

I have been foiling since November 2018 and have been windsurfing for the last 20 yrs. So only a couple of hours really to learn to wing foil, as holding the wing is similar to windsurfing. But transitions and jumps take a lot longer.

What is your favorite gear combination and why?

JP Australia 6'8 foil board, NeilPryde medium slim high aspect foil, Cabrinha crosswing X2. The board is both small enough and big enough to allow me to wing and paddle foil, the new Cabrinha X2 wing has implemented some amazing new designs and is super light and powerful.

What was your favorite wing surfing session?

Just myself and a friend had an epic session at The Bluff, longest rides ever.

What do you want or believe will significantly improve the wing foiling gear?

Maybe a wing specific harness, for longer water time, I think most of the significant improvements have been made, but like a lot of other waters ports, it will continue to get tweaked gear wise all the time.

What tips or recommendations do you have for anyone who wants to start?

If you are new to foiling then try and get some sessions towed behind a boat to learn to foil, then learn the wing, It will quicken your progress.

What is your biggest water sport achievement?

Winning the British Masters overall windsurfing BWA title and Tiree Wave Classic in 2016
