Questions & Answers
What other water sports do you do and how long?
I have been kiting and surfing for 6 years. I also foil for 2 years now.
What do you like about wing foiling?
The fact that we can explore the see in light wind with out the fear of not going to be able to go back to the beach. Because in kitesurf when the wind dies the kite falls and you wave to swim. I also love the help it's gives during the down winds.
How did you learn and how long did it take you to wing foil?
I learnt by my own just by watching some videos. I took my 2 session of 1 hour to get out of the water. On the third hour I managed to switch directions.
What is your favorite gear combination and why?
The Duotone wing with the wish bone. And the foils from slingshot with a 60 cm mast an 2000 square centimeters to get out of the water with a few speed and wind.
What was your favorite wing surfing session?
When I surfed the swell between 2 beaches and the wing helped me to don't pump too much.
What do you want or believe will significantly improve the wing foiling gear?
Smaller board and thinner boards that still have more than 50 L.
What tips or recommendations do you have for anyone who wants to start?
You should start the first time a little bit over power, with a big board but not to much with a least 25 L, a 4 to 6 m Wing, a long mast with a big front foil wing that you want to reduce when you progress.
What is your biggest water sport achievement?
I won some local kitesurf competitions.
