What other water sports do you do and how long?
Windsurfing for 30 years ( freestyle, wave, slalom, speed), Windfoil for 5 years, wakeboarding and surf/SUP for 15 years.
What do you like about wing foiling?
The learning curve keeps on going. You can do it everywhere, from 7kn till 35kn. We can rides endless waves at the Belgium and Holland coast. You can also jump very high on flat water.
How did you learn and how long did it take you to wing foil?
I was one of the first wingers in Belgium. I just bought a set and after 2 hours, I was foiling around. The windfoil experience helped me a lot!
What is your favorite gear combination and why?
For wing it's Ensis 3,5/Mojo 3.5 (flysurfer), foil 1700 from Ensis, and Konrad 40l/ Ensis 77l Rock’n’Roll Boards. Just feels perfect to me.
What was your favorite wing surfing session?
Too many. I love to do downwinders and wave ride. Flat water jumps and sail tricks.
What do you want or believe will significantly improve the wing foiling gear?
I think we will see the most evolution in the wings.
What tips or recommendations do you have for anyone who wants to start?
Go out in windy days. You'll learn faster a little bit overpowered.
What is your biggest water sport achievement?
6th place on Bk speed.
